My Dog Ate It.

I love the daft little puppy (he's only ten months old) but...

   Public Service Announcement:

Do not leave your English bulldog puppy alone in a room with figures on a table. Especially figures that are no longer available and were almost finished. Like two Parroom Station vehicles.

AAARRRRGGGGH!

One was a little Martian Stinger ship, like the one I found a photo of on TMP:

The other was a Minion quad cycle, possibly part of the Secret Science line rather than Parroom, but still. I can't even find a photo of that one online.

   I am so mad.

For a Few Minis More

This time, 25/28mm miniatures, all to be found on the Brigade Games site. First up are from Parroom Station's Bob Charrette, an old favorite sculptor of mine. Not that he belongs to me. Nor that he is all that old. Well, maybe getting a few years on him, but any rate you get what I mean and I don't want him to get mad at me when he finds out I said all this about him since we have played quite a few games together at Historicons and... ahem. Anyway. His minis are on my shelves and on my tables. Actually, I have some on my painting table right now, waiting to be turned into Prussian Line infantry. However, this is part of a new line called Secret Science. Check them out here. They have been available for a little while, but my blogging has been less than punctual lately.

Dr. Moreau - Love the power glove!

New Masked Minions, with alternate heads and flamethrowers!

Lady Winston - perfect for a British female character

Next up, and also available from Brigade Games, are some lovelies from a new (to me, at any rate) "Steampunk" line. I don't know the sculptor off hand, but these are nice and imaginative sculpts. I think the troops with breathing apparatus might make it into my collection as 'Aethermarines', since you can't breath the luminiferous aether. However, in my VSF universe, you can breathe the air of Mars and Venus just fine. Useful for Moon-based battles, as well. On to the photos and descriptions.

One of the Russian character pack models. I like her a lot.
I am looking forward to seeing if they release some regular
 female Russian troops.

From the British character pack. A Scot with a mechanickal arm.
Um, yes, please!

Also from the British Character pack.
I believe she may be a crack shot.

A view of the breathing apparatus, on the British officer.

Front view of the officer.
Notice mask and reciprocating rifle. And epaulettes.

Of the Steampunk line, so far I like the British character pack the best, and plan on getting one soon. I will eventually get some of the flame-wielding masked minions as well, and the character models from Parroom, but would like to see a reduction in the current lead mountain first. HAHAHAHAHA!

Out of my Cave for a Moment...

I have been woefully absent from any sort of gaming for the past three months or so, thanks largely to my nasty grad school habit taking up almost all of my free time (time not spent working, eating, sleeping, or spending time with the family). But today I took a few moments to peek about some of my old haunts, and found some treasures.

Parroom Station makes some of my favorite VSF minis. And Bob Charrette there is rolling out a new game, called Secret Science. I have played in one of the demos at Historicon a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it. But the game is about to be made available, and there have been postings at the Parroom Times Despatch that include many photos of upcoming miniatures. Lots of goodies, one of which I have snagged (sorry Bob, hope you don't mind the publicity) to show you what I mean.

Ol' Number 17

One of the neat things that they are producing is a set of exhausts for the automatons, to indicate different motive forces. Another awesome thing is the expansion of Masked Minions, with alternate heads (comes with the old style as well, which I will keep to, personally). And finally, a preview of some 'enslaved' troops, with freaking mind control helmets. Mind control helmets! I must have some. Exactly the sort of thing the Tsar would do to political dissidents...

I was going to ask for guns for Christmas this year. Real ones, not models, that is. But... I may have to have some toys. I mean, really... just add more to the Lead Mountain in the game room.
