I am using a very nice person to paint some miniatures for me right now. I will pass the name of the service along once they are done with my stuff, as I don't need them distracted by hordes of orders.
Communication has been good, and I received by email the first photos of the first unit that has been completed. I know the bases are bare - I asked that they be left alone so that I could match to my other bases.

The skink all the way to the left is the sample I sent. I think the others match fairly well, don't you? So far, I am pretty happy with the service, which I was nervous about, as I have never sent off anything to a painting service before.

As little as I paint, I have never been able to bring myself to pay somebody else cash money to paint for me. I might bribe a friend with pizza, bear, XP, a hint on the next dungeon crawl, etc, etc, but not greenbacks.
They look good. May I ask what "quality" you had requested they be painted at?

She doesn't really do 'levels of quality' like the other services. that was one of the things I liked about her service. Plus, she's in the US of A. Bit mroe expensive for the paint job, but shipping is dead cheap compared to sending forty-ish figures to Sri Lanka or what have you.
I provided several samples for her, and asked her to paint to match, essentially.
Ah cool, so she is emulating your paint style? There used to be a nice older lady who ran one of the FLGS who would paint figs for a pittance because she loved it. I personally think she got tired of seeing the Warhammer players playing with raw lead.
